Our latest solution, AISA School, was selected as a winner of the World Summit Awards European Young Innovators!
The World Summit Awards is an organisation connecting & rewarding tech-based projects which strive for & uphold the 17 United Nations’ SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
As you know, we have been working tirelessly on how we can connect the deaf & hearing communities for 4 years, and have developed 3 products to help not only the DHL (Deaf & Hearing Loss) community but everyone all over the world connect.
Today, there exists more than 466 million individuals with disabling hearing loss, a hearing loss which hinders them from navigating & proceeding with their day-to-day lives. Worse than that, there are 300+ sign languages in the world, and only 1.5 million individuals use the international sign language, ASL (American Sign Language). Worst even, is that these numbers are predicted to increase to more than 700 million people with disabling hearing loss. All this means not only do DHL individuals struggle to communicate with other people, but also struggle to communicate with their own communities!
AISA School aims to decrease this gap.
For 4 months we’ve been working on AISA School, our latest product which aims to teach people ASL, to unify & connect communities by bridging the language gaps. Integrating courses & lessons of ASL with our AI model, users can learn to sign interactively, as if they’re talking in real life!
Since our product – and our whole start-up – is based on making the lives of people easier, it’s obvious we’ve been following the UN’s SDGs; and recently AISA School has been selected as one of the 15 winners of WSA’s EYI in 2024!
We were invited to Graz, Austria to attend the festival and pitch our project to the final jury, in hopes of becoming the champion of all the projects. But, disaster struck.
The team working on AISA School were mostly in Iran, and the visa process wasn’t ideal, as they all got refused. What a shock! We were devastated and were desperately looking for other solutions to present ourselves at the festival.
That’s where our new member, Dimana, came in as our new European Ambassador! We were saved at the last minute. Our deepest gratitude to her.
Dimana managed to be present at the 3-day festival, attending workshops and learning new things on how to develop our start-up and
solutions. We also managed to pitch AISA School to the final jury!
Although we didn’t win the final round as champions, we learned a lot, made new friends, and especially expanded our network and community. We got to meet bright minds all concerned about humanity and making the world a better place, and hopefully, we will all develop a connected future together.
