Connection. Communication. Inclusivity.

These are the pillars of humanity, of survival, of evolution. Humans are naturally social beings. We constantly need to talk to each other, be together, help one another. This ensures our growth.

But what about those who are unable to do this task efficiently, or as some like to call, those who “aren’t normal”, “odd”, “outcasts”? These are labels given to those less fortunate; by us. By all the “normal” people out there. Are they condemned to forever be outcasts? Forever divided from society?

That is AISA’s main concern. Communication needs 2 main skills; listening, & speaking. Without these abilities, how can one pass not a month, not a week, but a day? Imagine not being able to talk to anyone or hear them. Would you not cry for help?

These nightmares led AISA to one of its main products, AISA Platform. The idea began as a simple app to transcribe speech and make transcriptions from various media files.

This idea was a beacon of hope, turning on the lighthouse to guide humanity to inclusivity. It powered the UWC Atlantic College Lighthouse program we signed up for in 2023-24.
Using the program’s grant, we managed to achieve several different goals and milestones within our project, from launching the first version of AISA Platform & website, to hosting an event for deaf and hearing loss individuals, which we talked about in our AISA Report for AISA Event.

With our first grant, we managed to team up with a group of like-minded individuals; including designers & developers to create the first version of the app (available on Google Play) along with launching our website, which was a huge milestone for our project.

This primary version of the app provides features such as Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text. These features will enable deaf individuals to convert and communicate in writing and obtain transcripts of spoken language, bridging the communication gap between hearing and deaf individuals.

But that’s not all the program boosted. It also helped us to expand our research on our main goal, the Sign Language translator, leading to the AISA’s image processing algorithm research paper.
On the other hand, our early version of the website provided users and interested individuals with information about our project and our solutions, along with extended information about our team.

Since then, we have developed & progressed, you can check out our growth & solutions on our website.
Our knowledge and with it, our concern grows evermore, and we will not stop until inclusivity & equality are all over the world.

Hear everyone, connect together!
